Guzden Varinglioglu

Guzden Varinglioglu is an architect of computational design, focusing on immersive technologies, architectural design education, and digital cultural heritage. She holds a PhD in Art Design and Architecture, an MFA in Graphic Design, and a BArch from the prestigious Turkish universities of Bilkent and METU, and finally a Post-doc at the Istanbul Technical University and the University of California Los Angeles. Her research opportunities are from the most prominent institutions - computational architecture at MIT, Islamic studies at Oxford, digital humanities at UCLA, and nautical archaeology at Texas A&M. She has achieved several prestigious fellowships – Chevening, Hanfmann and Mellink and Fulbright, as well as grants - U.S. Department of State, MIT Global Seeds, the Turkish Academy of Sciences and Research and Scientific Council. Holding an associate professorship from the Council of Higher Education of Turkey, she taught courses on computational design, architectural design studio, and design theory at both graduate and undergraduate levels. As a Fulbright and Chevening alumni, Guzden has received numerous grants, fellowships, and awards for her designs, presentations, and publications.
